I'm happy to help you enter an opening balance of trade debtors in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, ronels-tdoutsour.

It's recommended to leave the opening balance blank if you have customers and suppliers that have an open balance prior to the date you opened your account. Instead, add your customer's unpaid invoices or your supplier's unpaid bills to QuickBooks. This lets you add clear details about what your customers are paying for and what you're paying your suppliers for. Here's how to enter an opening balance of debtors:

  1. Go to Sales and select Customers.
  2. Tap New customer.
  3. Enter customer information.
  4. Go to the Payments and billing which is between the Tax info and Attachments tabs, then enter the Opening balance and as of the date (most likely the date you started your QuickBooks Online account).
  5. Press Save.

More information about entering the opening balance of customer and suppliers are discussed in this article: How to enter outstanding balances for customers and suppliers. If you have existing customers that have an opening balance, just go to their profile and set it up under the Payment and billing section. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Sales and choose Customers.
  2. Select the customer you want to enter the opening balance with, then click Customer Details.
  3. Press the Edit button.
  4. Go to the Payment and billing tab, then enter the opening balance.
  5. Tap Save after.

Moreover, if you need to see how much each customer owes, you can generate the Customer Balance Detail report. Then, memorize it to help you access the information quickly without going through the customisation process again.

I'm willing to give you a hand again if you have more concerns regarding entering the Trade Debtors opening balance. Do you need help with a specific task in the program? Let me know the details and I'll work with you.
