Question

I created an Invoice using Add Invoice in Shortcuts, succeeding serial number is missing. It skipped one number. Why this error occurred?

Why did the Invoice serial number skipped by one number?

Hello there, @fina-majarah-ae

 

Just to confirm, do you mean you're creating an invoice in the Shortcut tab using your mobile application? If so, it's possible the app needs an update. Also, the app stores cache files that can sometimes cause an unusual response to the system.

 

You can clear the app's cache first by following these steps:

 

  • In the QuickBooks Online app:
    • Android: From More Options ⋮, select Settings, then select Refresh Data. Then, tap Yes.
    • iOS: From the Menu ☰, select Help & Feedback, select Refresh Data, and then select Refresh.
       
  • In your device Settings:
    • Android: From your device's Settings, select Apps (varies by device), choose QuickBooks app from the list, and then select Storage. Finally, select clear data.
    • iOS: From your device's Settings, select Setting General iPhone Storage and choose an app that's taking up a lot of space. To free up the storage without deleting the documents and data for the app, select Offload App.

 

If the same thing happens, you'll want to uninstall and update your device first if needed and then reinstall the app to refresh the system.

 

On the other hand, if you've accessed QuickBooks in a browser, try using an incognito window.

 

  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Microsoft Edge or Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

 

If everything works well, you can clear the cache. Also, you can use other supported browsers.

 

Also, if you want to run a report that generates to see the inventory items with the serial numbers, you can follow the steps below.

 

  1. Go to Reports on the left side menu.
  2. Enter the Product/Service List in the search field.
  3. Tick the Gear icon on the report.
  4. Place a checkmark on the SKU box.
  5. Customise it more (if necessary).
