I'd be pleased to assist you with your concern today, @hussnain-farooq-.

When creating sales transactions in QuickBooks Online, your revenue will increase as long as you've selected the right account upon setting up the item.

To isolate this matter, I recommend checking the Transaction Journal of the invoice, to see if the Revenue-Product Income account has been credited. This is the right procedure to increase your income.

To do that:

  1. Look for the invoice that you've created and open it.
  2. Click on More at the bottom of the entry.
  3. Choose Transaction Journal

The transaction journal of the invoice should look like this:

If the Revenue-Product Income account was not credited, let's go ahead and review your item set up. I've added a reference below about what should be the set up of your account in the COA together with its set up on the item.

If the setup was incorrect, you'll need to modify it, so the next time you generate a sales transaction using that item, it will now increase your income. For the invoice that you've created already, you may delete and recreate it.

To give you more insights about adding an item in QBO, please see this link: Add product and service items to QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, if everything was fine and the issue persists, I recommend accessing your account on a private window and check the income account from there.

Web-based platforms like QBO gathers cache files (cookies) to save you time when loading repetitive data and images. These files can often become outdated or corrupted, causing issues like the one you've experienced.

You can open a Private Window in all supported browsers using the corresponding keyboard shortcut below:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If it works fine, you can now go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This eliminates unnecessary cache files and refreshes your data.

Lastly, you can always utilize this link to give you more information about the browsers that work best in QuickBook Online: Find out what computer and browser you need for the best QuickBooks experience.

I'll be right here to assist you further if you have any other questions. Just let me know by leaving a reply below. Take care!
