I'd be glad to share with you some insights about voiding invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Andrea.

If you mistakenly create a transaction or invoice, you can void or delete it so it doesn't affect your accounts and reports.

In most cases, it's best to void an invoice than deleting it. This way, you'll still have a record of it without affecting your reports. If you want to delete it, ensure you don't need a record of it. Deleting it completely erases it from your books.

Also, voiding an invoice does not void the payment recorded in it. This will convert the payment to a credit which you can apply for your customer's next invoice.

For more details about this process, please feel free to check this article: Void or delete transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I've also added this link that serves as your guide in case you need to link a deposit in the future: How to link a deposit to an invoice.

You can always count on me if you have other follow-up questions about voiding invoices in QBO. I can also help you out with other QuickBooks concerns you may have. Just leave the details in your reply and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
