Question

I recorded few supplier invoices in QB . They were shown under supplier name. But they were not shown in profit and loss account and in GL. Can you please check it?

I recorded few supplier invoices in QB . even though those invoices were shown under relevant supplier names they were not shown in profit and loss account and in GL when I run reports. Recording part was done correctly as far as I am concerned. I checked one transaction and checked how that was hit to accounts.

Hello there, it5.

Let me address your concern about supplier invoices not showing on the Profit and Loss and GL report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The reason for this could be the accounting method selected while running the report. If you choose the Accrual accounting method, it will display all recorded transactions, regardless of whether they've been paid or not. This means that you'll be able to see unpaid bills and invoices on the Profit and Loss and GL report.

On the other hand, if you choose the Cash accounting method, the unpaid bills and invoices won't show up because this method only displays transactions after payment has been sent/received.

To resolve this, you'll need to select the appropriate accounting method to display the information you require. In your case, selecting the Accrual accounting method should help you see the supplier invoices on the report.

If you would like to narrow down a report and prioritise specific details, you have the option to customise your reports. Check out the article titled 'Customise reports in QuickBooks Online' for more information on this.

If you have any further questions about running your Profit and Loss or GL report, feel free to ask. I'm here to help. Have a great day!
