Question

I want to create and schedule an invoice to be sent in 5 days from now without having to return a 2nd time to the website to send it. (ie. Send Later). How to do this?

In Freeagent I can set an option to Send an invoice (non recurring) on a specified calendar date in the future, this can be handy in certain situations if I want to create an invoice, schedule and forget about it. I cant seem to find how to do this in QBO?

I'm delighted to have you in the Community today, @IUERTP123. I'll be happy to walk you through how to create a scheduled invoice in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before anything else, know that I understand how important it is to have the option to send an invoice, especially a non-recurring one, on a specified calendar date. As I've checked here on my end, the feature that you're trying to access is unavailable. However, I've got a workaround to help you get through this situation.

In QBO, you can create a recurring invoice transaction so you can choose when the invoice will be sent. If you wish to continue with this method, I'll gladly input the steps below. Here's how:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the top right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Under Lists column, select Recurring transactions.
  4. Click the New button, and then choose the type of transaction to create.
  5. Once you're ready, press OK.
  6. Enter a Template name.
  7. Select a Type: Scheduled, Unscheduled, or Reminder.
  8. Once done, click the Save template below.

For further guidelines, please see this article: Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Also, if you wish to request a feature to be included in the program, I can help you send feedback to our Product Development Team. This way, they'll see it and consider adding it to the next product update. Here's how:

  1. On the top right corner, click the Gear icon.
  2. Under Profile column, select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your feature request.
  4. Once you're ready, press Send.

In addition, I've got you this article to help you manage invoice payments: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.
