Question

I would like to inquire about the possibility of customizing the received payment. If the customer pays in installment, what is the invoice way?

I've got you covered on how to manage installment payments, Ahad.

To start, there are two main ways to record installments or partial payments from your customers:

  1. Setting up a recurring sales receipt, or.
  2. Using a third-party app if you want a bit more flexibility.

If you'd prefer to stick with QuickBooks, let me guide you on how to create a recurring sales receipt to record the payment:

  1. Go to Settings and select Recurring transactions.
  2. Click New.
  3. From the Transaction Type ▼ dropdown, choose Sales Receipt, then select OK.
  4. Enter a template name. This won’t appear on the transaction.
  5. From the Type ▼ dropdown, choose Scheduled.
  6. Select the customer’s name from the Customer ▼dropdown. Then, verify the email.
  7. Note: You can select Automatically send emails to send notifications to your customer when you process their payment.
  8. Set the interval. For example, if you need a sales receipt every first day of the month, the interval is Monthly on day 1st of every 1 month.
  9. Enter the Start and End Date.
  10. Note: In case there's no end date, select None from the End ▼dropdown.
  11. From the Payment Method ▼ dropdown, select an appropriate payment option.
  12. Enter all the required product or service details.
  13. Click Save template.

Alternatively, you can still use the normal invoicing and record its partial payment. For further information and detailed guidance on how to do that, please refer to these articles:
