IN: How to apply discounts?

Is there a way to apply discount only to one or more item in the invoice rather than applying discount to the entire invoiced amount?  This is a problem when it comes to multiple SKU's and only certain items can be applicable for discounts.  Appreciate your prompt attn regarding this matter.

As stated there is no discount line item in QBO like there is in desktop, but there is a work around.

Create a service item, name it, select the sales income discount account on the item screen, in the rate block enter the decimal equivalent of the discount rate as a negative number.  ie discount of 12% entered as -0.12

On the invoice select the discount item, in the QTY block enter the amount to be discounted.

Dear darshankapadia

We would like to update you that, QuickBooks is not compatible for line item wise Discount on Invoices. Discount can be applied on the entire invoice amount. However, we will take this feedback and take it forward to our Product Development Team.

@IntuitArun is line discount per item being developed by QBO?

This is such a basic thing to have I don't understand why its not been implemented.
I now need to do multiple invoices for different discount levels, this needs to be rectified asap!

I NEED DISCOUNT ON [removed]  ON THIS I'd

 

 

I CANNOT PAY THAT MUCH AMOUNT MONTHLY

GIVE ONE YEAR PACKAGE IN SOME REASONABLE PRICE (LIKE Rs: 1500 per year )

OR SUGGEST ME HOW TO GET DISCOUNT 

 

ON HELPDESK NO ONE IS WORKING SINCE LAST ONE MONTH

Intuit offers two different promotions to new QuickBooks Online accounts. You can choose either a free 30-day trial or a 50% off for 3 months. The discount will auto-apply after you sign up. Visit https://quickbooks.intuit.com/in/ for more details.

 

For existing accounts, our Support Team will be able to discuss it so you'll want to contact them. Here's how:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter "Billing".
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
