Welcome to the Community, Charles.

I'll provide some information about reorganizing account types in QuickBooks Online.

Reorganizing account types promotes efficient navigation of your accounts and their corresponding transaction. However, rearranging it according to your preferred order is unavailable.

As a workaround, you can utilize an account number and assign it accordingly, depending on how you want to sort everything. To begin with, proceed to these steps to turn on the feature:

  1. Head to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and settings, then choose the Advanced tab.
  3. In the Chart of accounts section, click on the pencil icon.
  4. Toggle on the Enable account number.
  5. Select Show account number to show it on your reports.
  6. Click Save and then Done.

After that, here's how you can add an account number:

  1. Proceed to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose the Chart of accounts.
  3. Above the Action column, select ✎ Batch edit.
  4. In the Number column, add account numbers.
  5. Click on Save to implement changes.

To learn more about the process above, you can review this article: Use account numbers in your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, you might want to scan these resources to guide you on adding accounts to the system:
