1. Go to the + New, then select Receive payment.
2. Select the customer, specify the invoice the payment applies to, and record the correct amount received.
   
    

If these payments need to be deposited into your bank account, you can record it as a deposit. 
 

1. Go to the + New, then select Bank deposit.
2. From the Account dropdown, select the account you want to put the money into.
3. Provide the necessary information under the Add funds to this deposit section.
4. Click Save and close.
   
    

Also, any deposits not properly recorded in QuickBooks will not appear in your bank account. To identify discrepancies and ensure all recorded transactions align with your bank statement, you'll need to reconcile your bank account.
