Question

Is there a way to import historical detailed sales invoice data from an existing QBO instance to a new live QBO instance that has superseded the old instance?

If it's possible to import this, can the historical data be imported without changing  the current sales data that has already been entered into the new instance.  I don't want to lose the sales data from the customers which is sitting in the old instance and want to close the account.

Hi info-sanddollar,

It's great to see you posting today! I've got information to share about transferring invoices.

We can import invoice data using a CSV file, but we're unable to transfer invoices from one QBO company to another. Your best bet is to find a third-party app that can do the transfer or at least produce a CSV file. Just click on the Apps menu on the left navigation bar and search using keywords.

After transferring all the historical invoices, you can cancel your old QBO subscription.

  1. Sign in to the old company.
  2. Click on the Gear icon.
  3. Choose Billing & subscription.
  4. Click Cancel subscription in the QuickBooks section.

I'm only a comment away if you need more help. Take care and have a good one!

@info-sanddollar-

You can utilize a migration tool

https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo

Another option, purchase a 3rd party migration service.
