Question

Issuing an advice to a customer

Good evening

My client wants to send a single advice/statement and I'm not sure how she can do this.

We have determined 4 steps to record the accounting in Quickbooks:

1. Invoice the total amount to be received

2. Receive the incoming funds

3. Bill the client for 2 sets of commissions

4. Pay the 2 sets of commissions

Her single statement to the person paying would include calculations on how the amount was arrived at. I suggested she use the Estimate function but she says it's actual and not an estimate. Is there some way we can produce a single statement from Quickbooks Online? Thanks for your help.

Hi there, @giles.

I hope you're having a wonderful day so far. I've got the steps on how to send customer statements.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can provide statements to show customers' summaries of their invoices, payments, credits, and balances. The following steps will help you achieve your goal:

  1. Go to Get paid & pay or Sales, then Customers.
  2. Select the checkboxes for the customers you want to make statements for.
  3. In the Batch actions dropdown, select Create statements.
  4. In the Statement Type dropdown, choose Balance forward. This lists invoices and payments with outstanding balances for a specific date range
  5. Select the dates for the statements and the date range.
  6. Review the customers' email addresses.
  7. Click Print or Preview to review the details.
  8. Select Save and send.

Additionally, you may personalise your sales forms and add the info that matters most to your business.

Please let me know if you need assistance with managing your sales transactions, @giles. I’ll be more than happy to work with you again.
