Question

My client paid the invoice of $240. It was there for a few minutes, but then it vanished. The balance isn't showing. What should I do now?

I'd gladly show you how to isolate your issue, almuharibun7. Let's begin by looking at your Audit log to review if there are any changes to your transactions within the program. There might be unintentional deletion or modification of the paid invoice. To do that, click the Gear icon, then select Audit log.

 

I also advise performing some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate this issue. You may experience unexpected behavior, which we can typically fix via typical browser troubleshooting. 

 

Let's begin by signing in through a private window, then check the paid invoice. To save time, here are the keyboard shortcuts;

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

 

If it works fine, you can return to your default browser and clear its cache to start afresh. You can also use another supported and up-to-date browser because the one you're using now may have a temporary issue with QuickBooks Online.

 

If the issue persists, I recommend creating the invoice again, then recording a received payment.
