Hello there.

You're unable to book supplier invoices using the QuickBooks Online (QBO) basic plan (QuickBooks Simple Start). You can upgrade your subscription instead to get the feature you need. I'll gladly show you how below.

As your business grows, QuickBooks grows with you. With this, you can upgrade your subscription to either Essentials or Plus plan to book supplier invoices. To do this, here's how:

  1. Check out the available pricing plans to see which subscription level is right for you.
  2. Sign into QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.
  3. Go to Settings ⚙ or the Gear icon and then Account and settings.
  4. Select the Billing & subscription tab.
  5. Make sure your payment info is up to date.
  6. In the QuickBooks Online section, select Upgrade your plan.
  7. Review the available plans and then select Choose plan.
  8. Follow the onscreen steps to upgrade your plan.

Please see this article to learn more about managing your QuickBooks plan to add more accounting features: Upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Online subscription.

Once you're done, track your supplier invoices and record payments in your QBO account.

Also, you can pull up a Transaction List by Date report to get details on all money you paid to a supplier. You may want to check out this article on how to do this in QBO: Run a report with supplier totals.

If you have other account management concerns and questions about managing supplier transactions in QBO, please don't hesitate to let me know in the comments below. I'm always ready to help. Take care.
