Thanks for dropping by here in the Community, @finance-liwan-co. I'll guide you on how to set up and track your inventory in QuickBooks Online.

First. we'll have to turn on the inventory tracking, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then select Account and Settings.
  2. Select Sales and Edit pencil icon in the Products and services section.
  3. Turn on Show Product/Service column on sales forms.
  4. Turn on both Track quantity and price/rate and Track inventory quantity on hand.
  5. Click Save and then Done.

Once done, we'll proceed to add your inventory products. To begin, these are the steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then under the LISTS column, select Products and Services.
  2. Click Add an item and then you can either choose InventoryNon-inventoryService, or Bundle.
  3. Enter the details of the product or service.
  4. Click Save and close.

You then track them when they sell. There are two ways to track what you sell. You can either Create an invoice if you'll get paid later or Add a sales receipt if your customer paid on the spot. QuickBooks, then decreases what's on hand by the amount on the invoice or sales receipt.

To check what's on hand and what's still on order as you work with an invoice, sales receipt, or other type of transaction. Hover your cursor over the quantity you entered for an item to see more information. QuickBooks will then notify you when anything is running short, if you have set reorder points.

If you need someone from QuickBooks to further assist you with this, you can consider contacting support. This way a representative will reach out to you and  provide additional assistance with your query. To begin, these are the steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Select either tab to get started:

  • Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.
  • Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us:
