Question

The receipt snap function is not working. I have access to my camera enabled, deleted the app and reinstalled and still nothing. I can see a black screen.

Hello @mike535! I hope you're doing well today. I see that you're experiencing some difficulty with uploading your receipts through our app. I appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting the issue on your own. Since it's still not working, I'll connect you with our Live Support Team for further assistance. In the meantime, I'll offer some temporary workarounds so you can continue to submit your receipts.

Here's how to reach our live experts:

  1. Open your QBO company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Head to the Search tab, click Contact Us.
  4. Enter your issue, and hit Continue.
  5. Choose to Chat with a live agent or request a Callback.

Our support hours are as follows:

  • Phone support is available from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays.
  • Callbacks can be scheduled from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays. An expert will contact you as soon as available.
  • Live chat is accessible from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays, and from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends.

For a quick fix, you can also try these alternatives:

Email receipts and bills to QBO email which ends with @qbodocs.com.

  1. Navigate to Transactions, then choose Receipts.
  2. Click on Forward from email.
  3. Enter your customized email address (ending with @qbodocs.com).
  4. Optional - To change the email address later:
    • Visit Your forwarding email section.
    • Select Update.
    • Input a new email address and confirm with Confirm change.
  5. Once you're ready, select Next.
  6. Verify the accuracy and choose Looks good.
  7. Click Done to complete the setup.

Upload directly through the web browser under Transactions.

  1. Go to Transactions, then choose Receipts.
  2. Select the For review tab to examine your uploaded documents. QuickBooks will indicate whether there are matching transactions in your records.
  3. Inspect the Action column to determine your next steps.
