Question

Using a daily sales receipt template and the cash drawer over/under isn't allowing me to enter a negative number. QB says to list as an expense type. Any ideas?

Let's work together to resolve this issue, Jss027. We can fix that by performing some troubleshooting steps in QuickBooks Online.

Before that, may I ask for further details or a screenshot of the issue? This way, we'll be able to locate the exact solution to the issue.

For the initial remedy, let's proceed with the troubleshooting steps to know if this is an error or bug running within your company.

We can use a private window. Sign in to your QuickBooks account there. If this option works, we can clear the cache from your regular browser.

Here are the shortcuts to incognito browsers:

    • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
    • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
    • Firefox: press: Shift + CTRL + P

Furthermore, the cache can hinder and impact the functionality of QuickBooks and result in missing tabs and features, thus, clearing the cache to reduce issues that appear when using QuickBooks.

I am available to provide guidance and assistance to help you achieve your objective. I wish you a pleasant day.
