Question

We are sending equipment back to the EU for repair and require a customs invoice. I cannot seem to build one myself in the "customs field tab" - how do I get one please?

there are certain specific details that need be on it but it is purely for repair not a sale. Has anyone customised a form on quickbooks? I would have thought there must be one around!

We can help you add custom fields to your invoices to enter the repair equipment details in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Sondardo. Let us guide you through the necessary steps to achieve this.

We can create up to three custom fields for sales forms and manually enter the repair details on each field. If you have made any previous edits to your template, ensure to save your invoice before creating custom fields. Here's how:

    1. Go to the Gear icon on the top menu and select Custom form styles.
    2. Click New style.
    3. Choose a sales form type you’d like to create a template for.
    4. Tap the Content tab.
    5. In the header section, tap Manage custom fields.
    6. Hit Add custom field.
    7. Enter the name of the field and select All Sales forms.
    8. Turn on Print on form so it appears in your form's header.
    9. Press Save.

Once done, we can review the invoice created and click the Customise button below to check what template it uses. For more details about customising your sales forms, you can check out this article: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, we are adding this article to help you record payments when you receive customer payments: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

We are always available to assist you with tailoring invoices. If you need further help with the customer payments or any QuickBooks-related concern, please reply to this thread. You have a good one, Sondardo.
