Question

We have a QB online account we had to abandon, a currency issue. The new account's early bank feed is missing. How to get all the data into QB?

Do you only need the historical bank transactions or other transaction types from your old QBO account?

Hi there, d_linklater.

Did you recently connect your bank account to your new QuickBooks Company? Please note that the amount of transactions you can download depends on your financial institution. Some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions. Others can go back as far as 24 months.

Don't worry, I'm here to share with you the steps on how to import your missing transactions into the program. All you have to do is manually update them via CSV files. Here are the steps:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  2. Follow the instructions on how to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer. Every financial institution has different steps.
  3. Make sure the date range for the download begins at least one day before your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your computer's desktop.
  5. Open and review the file from your bank. Make sure it's in the correct format before you upload it.

Once done, follow step four of this article to import your transactions into QuickBooks: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

After your transactions are in, it's time to match and categorise them. They will go into your account's register after you review them. The final step is to reconcile them. This ensures your books are accurate and there aren't any duplicate transactions.
