Yes, Anna_SH.

We can add an account that uses a foreign currency in QuickBooks Online. Before creating the Intercompany Loan account, let's turn on the multicurrency feature.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then select Account and settings.
  2. Choose Advanced.
  3. Select Edit in the Currency section and choose your Home Currency.
  4. Click the Multicurrency checkbox and confirm that you understand that you can't undo this option.
  5. Select Save and close.

Then, you can now add to the currencies you use. I'll show you how:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Currencies.
  2. Select Add currency.
  3. Choose Add Currency to record the new one.
  4. Click Add.

Once done, we can now add the Intercompany Loan account.

  1. From the Gear icon and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select New.
  3. Choose the appropriate Account Type and Detail Type.
  4. Enter  Intercompany Loan in the Name field.
  5. From the Currency drop-down menu, select the foreign currency.
  6. Select Save and close.
