Question

When I mark an order on Shopify as paid, it creates an invoice on Quickbooks, causing duplication in invoices; how can I fix that?

Hi there, info-jafarshop. I'll help you get around the issue with your Shopify orders.

Since marking your orders on Shopify as paid caused duplicate invoices in QuickBooks Online, I'd recommend reviewing the Orders workflow setup. Thus, this can double up your transactions in QBO.

For more details about the workflow, please check out this article: Shopify and QuickBooks Online Integration Guide.

Once settled, we can utilize the Exclude feature to delete duplicate sales transactions. Let me walk you through the process:

  1. Click Transactions from the left pane and choose Banking.
  2. From the For Review tab, select duplicate sales transactions or invoices.
  3. Tap on the Exclude button.

  4. Once done, go to the Excluded tab, and select the transactions again.
  5. Hit the Delete button.

Otherwise, I suggest reaching out to Shopify support. They'll be able to assist you with your setup and provide you with the best process to sort this out.

Furthermore, I'll add this guide to know insights about reviewing your transactions: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Please know that I'm just a post away should you need anything else or have follow-up questions about duplicate transactions. I'm always here to help and ensure that your questions are addressed accordingly. I wish you a wonderful week ahead!
