Question

Where can I close the books now ? In the seccion Account and configuration, it used to be a menu to set the date for closing the books, up to that date. Where is it now?

Closing your books is very important to keep the account in order, @edu777

I've got some ideas and tips so you can seamlessly set a closure date for your books.

Ensure to log in and toggle the Close the books feature from your Account and Settings page. This way, the Close date box shows. If both fields aren't showing at all, you're likely experiencing a permission limitation issue. Make sure to sign in as a primary or company admin and close your books once more.

If you get the same result, I recommend performing basic troubleshooting steps to check if you're experiencing a browser-related issue. Start by logging in using an incognito page. Here are the shortcut keys to open it:

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If this works, you'll have to clear your regular browser cache. This prevents unusual browser behavior.

If the issue continues, use another supported browser.

Feel free to also browse the QuickBooks Online year-end guide and checklist. This helps you complete certain tasks to prepare for the new year.
