Question

Why can't I change my home currency even if I have the Essential Plan and already turned on multicurrency? Why is the option to edit it does not show?

I go to Account and Settings, then Advanced > Currency. Multicurrency is on but Home Currency does not have a pen icon to click for editing.

Hi, mytopva.

 

Let me share some information about the Multi-currency feature.

 

Once you have turned this feature on, you're unable to change the home currency. QuickBooks Online has shown this message earlier when turning on the multi-currency functionality. This is why you're unable to see an edit button in the Currency section.



 

In the meantime, you may consider opening a new company to manage a business from other regions. Then follow these steps to change the home currency:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner.
  2. Select Account and Settings. Then choose the Advanced tab.
  3. Go to the Currency section. Then click the pencil icon. 
  4. Choose your Home Currency from the drop-down arrow.
  5. Hit the Save button. Then Done.
