How to show series number in invoice

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be providing details on how SN number works in QuickBooks. Then, ensure you'll be able to print it when you create an invoice for your customer.

When printing sales entries in QuickBooks, it usually prints all the details manually entered on the page. That said, the number column or SN is automatically created by QuickBooks and that's why isn't included when you print it.

Meanwhile, I recommend adding the SN number in the description so that it appears when you print the invoice.

Here's how:

1. Go to the Get paid & pay menu and select Products and services.
2. Click the New button.
3. Select Inventory, Non-inventory or Service.
4. From the Category dropdown arrow, select the category that best describes your product or service.
5. Select the I sell this product/service to my customers checkbox.
6. Go to the description filed and add the SN number. This is what your customers will see on their sales form.
7. Fill in the other necessary field.
8. When you're done, select Save and close.

Once done, you can now create a new invoice and choose the item you've created above. You can also manually enter the SN number when making the entry. Then, print it.
