May i know how to have the special item track expenses and items by customer option under my account and settings ? Presently I do not have under my Essential package

I need to record payment out of the retainer received which is a trust liability account and relates to the customer

Thanks for informing us of your subscription plan, Helen. This has helped me identify why the Track expenses and items by customer option isn't available under your Account and Settings.

 

Currently, the Track expenses and items by customer feature is only available in the QuickBooks Online Plus version. You may consider upgrading your subscription plan to access the option and accomplish your task.

 

Here are the steps to upgrade:

 

  1. Sign in to your company as a primary or company admin.
  2. Select the Gear icon, then click Subscriptions and billing.
  3. Make sure your payment info is updated.
  4. Click Upgrade your plan in the QuickBooks Online section.
  5. Select Choose plan, then follow the on-screen steps to complete.

When done, you can settle the payment and start tracking your profit and loss by customers in the program.
