Where did the Custom Form Style menu option go? As of a few days ago it is no longer in Settings.

I frequently edit the email template that is sent with my invoices and reminders, but now Custom Form Styles is gone!

Very disappointing indeed. All of the (repeated) canned answers are nonsense. I wish this would escalate to higher level engineers for a real solution, but here we are TWO MONTHS later without a fix!! This is definitely a QBO issue, not a browser issue. My only client affected by this issue is on the Singapore version of QBO. All of my US clients are unaffected.

One partial work around is accessing the email templates in company settings.

Gear icon > Your Company > Account and Settings > Sales

You probably still won't be able to access the full customization options (at the top), but scroll down to Messages, and you can edit the default email sent with invoices.

Below that in the Reminders section you can edit the email sent with the invoice reminders.

Hope this ACTUALLY helps a little!

UPDATE:  when QB recently updated it erased some of my access privileges.  To fix, my boss updated my access.

Hope this helps others.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, Leah.

Thank you for reporting about the missing Custom form styles menu under SETTINGS. I see how important this is for you, knowing you’re always editing your email template. I will help you out.

Know that there have been no changes to our system, and I’ve checked this on my test accounts, and the menu is there. Therefore, this behavior could be caused by random browser issues, which we will find that out as we go through the steps.

We can start by signing in to QuickBooks using a private window. This step prevents your browser from re-using the stored internet files in the cache, which includes data for Custom form styles or menus in general. Therefore, QuickBooks loads up fresh information from Intuit's server.

  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For MS Edge and Mozilla Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Safari, press Shift +  + N.

If you see the menu, you'll want to go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. However, if it's the same thing, you'll want to use a different browser to isolate the issue.

Let me know how the instructions above work for you, so we can assist you again if the issue persists. Take care!

I've gone through these steps and they didn't help. Still no 'Custom Form Styles' option. This problem is only happening when I'm logged into my client in Singapore. When I'm logged into my own US QUickbooks, or my other US clients, the option is there as usual.

I'll share some information that could help you.

You'll want to check your QuickBooks Online subscription. If you are on Simple Start or Essentials, the Customs Form Styles on the settings are unavailable. The feature is only available if you're on the Plus version.

You may want to consider upgrading your QBO version to utilize this feature. You can visit this page for more information and see the other feature available on different versions: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/sg/pricing/.

You can also utilise this article for future reference: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

For additional QuickBooks-related concerns, don't hesitate to post them here in the Community. We're always available and willing to lend a hand to your queries. Have a great day ahead.
