I'd be happy to explain the possible reason why you had a backdated invoice, hpmotopteltd. You're in the place for solutions.

Let's fix this backdated invoice in your QuickBooks Online. This way, we can ensure that your account's receivable reports are accurate at all times.

There's a possibility that the chosen date may be incorrect or inadvertently changed. That's why your issued invoice shows predated . Don't worry, we can fix this by modifying the date. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Sales tab on the left side.
  2. Select Invoices, then double-click the backdated invoice in the list.
  3. Change the date in the field.
  4. Click Save

Please note that any modifications you've made to your account will appear in your Audit Log. If you want to review them, please refer to this article for the complete steps: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

Dear Michelle

Thanks for your reply. Yes, what you shown is what we have been doing for the past two weeks since we realised this issue.

Do you have any solutions to avoid this issue as we are still experiencing this issue on daily basis. We noticed this only happened to iOS phone whereas the android phone is ok.

Glad to know the backdated invoices are now corrected, hpmotopteltd. I'm here to share what could be the cause of this issue.

Strange behaviors in QuickBooks Online mobile app are usually caused by the accumulated cache. Thus, I'd suggest clearing its data to prevent this from happening in the future. Doing so refreshes the program and eliminates common issues that cause your backdated invoices.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online app.
  2. Select the menu at the top right and then choose Help & Feedback.
  3. Choose Refresh Data and then click Refresh.

Once done, try creating a dummy invoice. Double-check the date to ensure it isn't backdated anymore.

Also, we need to make sure that the app is updated. I'd suggest visiting the App Store and updating it from there. If the same thing happens, consider uninstalling the app. Then, reinstall it.

Additionally, I've included an article that'll help you personalise your invoice template in QuickBooks Online. This helps you add the details that matter most to your business: Customise Invoices on the QuickBooks Online Mobile App.

I'm only a few clicks away if you need assistance with your other QuickBooks tasks, hpmotopteltd. It's always my pleasure to help you out again.
