Cheque nombers are auto allocating and following from bill numbers. Is it opossible to delete the chq numbers or to swich off the auto allocation of chq numbers?

QuickBooks will automatically assign a cheque number sequence every time you create the transaction. Hence, there isn't an option to turn off the auto-allocation.

You need to manually change it while creating the cheque If you need to enter a different one in QuickBooks. Here's how:

Let me show you how:
 

1. Go to Expenses from the left menu, then Vendors.
2. Locate the name of the vendor, then click it to open the profile.
3. Find the cheque and open it.
4. Enter the correct cheque number.
   
5. Click Save and close.
