How do you do take balances or change balances that are already there?

If you're referring to the opening balance in your register, you can take or change it by going to the Chart of Accounts. Here's how:

1. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), go to the Accounting menu at the left pane to get to the Chart of Accounts.
2. Locate the account, then tick the Account history or View register in the Action column. 
3. Find and select the opening balance, then change the amount.
4. Hit Save to complete.
