Can Quickbooks generate an auto reference number for expenses?

currently we add the expense ref. number manually. we have to check the last ref. number for an expense. Can this process be done automatically?

Currently, we're unable to automatically generate a reference number for expenses in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Though, you can always stay updated with all the product improvements to know if this feature will be added in the future. For more details, I recommend visiting our QuickBooks Blog.
