Question

Can you make multiple brands / types of business in quickbooks with totally separate accounts? Different P&L, tax, accounts, everything. Only the same owners.

Can you make multiple brands / types of business in quickbooks? I know you can have locations. So maybe that would do. Lets say we have a shop, and an online business, and a hotel. And the accounts should be totally separate. I am fuzzy on the technical terms, but I think I mean separate balance sheets, accounts, P&L, people, salary... everything really. They are not only locations, but different types. Would also have different tax requirements, e.g. VAT or no VAT.

And also people would have different access, And the invoices would be different of course.

Quickbooks desktop is ideal for this you can have as many companies as you wish.

Qb Desktop Uk can be easily reconfigured to meet nearly all types of vat regime's due to its ability to reconfigure the codes and create new. It has much more reporting options as well.

Hi. How can you use desktop in different locations? It stores data online?

Hello there, dave,

Based on the descriptions you provided, it's best to have separate QuickBooks Online account for each business. Yes, we do have location tracking, however, it won't cover the things you want to do.

Different subscriptions will also mean you have to pay for multiple accounts.

Also, QuickBooks Desktop can handle different types of business as what  Graceman mentioned. However, if you need to use VAT, it won't cover International. QBDT is only available for United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.

Please let me know if you have additional questions regarding this.

Hi and thanks. Is that because you can’t separate the accounts between locations?
