Can you match a bill within a cheque expense without passing a journal in QuickBooks online?

Yes, you can match the bill with a cheque, @philip-annor-com.

The bill will appear on the Cheque form once you select the name of the vendor. Click the Add button to match and save it to record the bill payment.
