Hi there, eliomacho.

I can provide you some information on how you can connect your Paypal account to QuickBooks.

There are a few reasons for unexpected banking issues in QuickBooks Online. Please check the list below.

  • The bank recently made some changes with their security feature or connection.
  • Log in credentials set up in QBO doesn't match with the online banking login.
  • QuickBooks Online is unable to connect to your bank's website.

I suggest, checking your bank's website. There may be an issue on their end and it loses connection with QBO every time there are updates.

  1. Go to the Banking tab.
  2. Select on Add Account.
  3. Search for your bank and click it.
  4. Select the URL listed in the window.
  5. Sign in using your bank website username and password.
  6. Check your account page for messagesnotifications, or alerts. Any display or login issues on the bank’s end can block downloads.
  7. Also, check your bank’s website for any new security requirements. Even something as simple as updating your bank password can block QuickBooks.
  8. If everything looks good, try to connect again your bank.

If the issue continues to occur, I recommend using a private browser when connecting your Paypal account to QuickBooks. This is to verify if we get the same result. And, this method prevents cookies from being stored on your computer, making it a great place to identify browser problems.

You can use the keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If you're able to connect and don't have a problem using a private browser, you'll have to clear the cache of your regular browser. This eliminates the stored files so it helps the browser to function efficiently. If not, use other supported browsers.

If the problem persists, you'll need to manually import your bank transactions to add them to your Online Banking. You can click this article on how to perform the steps: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Please also check this article on how to review your bank and credit card transactions after you download them into QBO: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. This will help you to avoid double entries in your transactions.

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.

Thanks for getting back to us, @eliomacho.

Since you already tried the steps shared by my colleague and the issues persist, I highly contacting our Phone Support team. They have tools such as screen-sharing (remote access) that can pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate why you're unable to connect your bank. They can also perform other troubleshooting steps that can fix this for you.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), click the Help (question mark) icon at the top right.
  2. Select Contact Us at the bottom to connect with our live support.

Just in case, I'll add this article for future reference: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know how it goes or if you have any other issues or concerns in the comment below. I want to make sure everything is taken care of for you. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!
