The feature to modify the Purchase order (PO) template is not an option in QuickBooks, but we can remove its category or product/service entries, System-Admin.

Before we proceed, may I ask what specific column you want to remove in your PO? If you mean deleting an item from the Category or the Item Details sections, you can do so by selecting the Trash icon directly from the transaction.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Expenses menu and choose the Purchase orders tab.
  2. Locate the PO and click its designated View/edit option.
  3. Select the Trash icon for the Category or the Product/Service entries you want to remove.
  4. Once done, hit Save and close.

On the other hand, we can't customise the PO on the platform. In this entry, we can only enable or disable the Custom transaction numbers or the Tags fields by clicking the PO window's Gear icon.

Since the ability to personalise the PO's columns, appearance, and other information would benefit QuickBooks users like yourself, you can send a feature request to our product developers. Kindly follow these steps to submit one:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon and choose Feedback.
  3. Enter your feature recommendation in the designated field.
  4. Once done, click Next.

Your feedback on our product will be received and reviewed by our development team.

Additionally, after your suppliers accept the sent PO, you can convert it as an expense, bill, or cheque in QuickBooks. Refer to this article for more details: Add purchase orders to expenses, bills, or cheques in QuickBooks Online.
