If you are using QBO SimpleStart or your account > 60 days old, you are unable to purge it. You should open a new blank QBO account.

I recognize how important it is to delete your data and start again, bkeelanelectrica. I'm here to assist you with that.

If your account has been active within 90 days of signup, let's reset it to delete your data. Please note that this is for QuickBooks Online Plus or Essentials users only. If you use the Simple Start version, you'll need to cancel your current books and start a new one.

To purge your data, I'd suggest following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany
    Example: Change https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage to https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany
  3. The next screen will provide a summary of the items to delete.
  4. Type YES to delete the data, then select OK.
  5. Once your selections are complete, select Wipe Data

However, if your account is more than 90 days, you can't reset it right away. I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team to extend the purge and reset date for you. Then, you can now delete your data and start over.

Aside from that, you can also cancel your subscription and create a new one

Additionally, I've included an article that'll walk you through the process of starting over with new books: Get started with QuickBooks Online.

Please come back and keep us posted on your progress in deleting your data, bkeelanelectrica. It's always my priority to get this resolved.
