Welcome to the Community, tristan. Let me share insights about adding expiration dates to your inventory in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, the option to add an expiration date on the inventories set up is unavailable. It's a good idea to have them available in the application to keep track of perishable items and ensure the production of good quality and safe-to-use products.

In this, I'd recommend you utilize a third-party application that authorizes you to enter the following information about the item. Also, if you want the expiration date to be visible for your vendors, you can add this information to the Description section of the purchase forms.

Aside from that, we can submit this as a product suggestion as our product developers are responsible for evaluating and implementing new enhancements, so they would be better equipped to determine the feasibility and benefits of your suggestion for our users:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit feedback.

Stay in touch if you have any other questions or concerns. I’ll be right here to answer them for you. Take care!
