Thanks for bringing this to my attention, lumieremaur. I've got the steps so you can record an employee's salary in QuickBooks Online.

The QuickBooks Online International version doesn't have a payroll inbuilt functionality at the moment. However, You can create a journal entry as a workaround to record the accounting information of your payroll. Before creating one, you'll need to create an expense account in the Chart of Accounts to track these expenses. You can also consult your accountant to help set this up for you.

Once the account is ready, you may create a journal entry to record the salary. You can refer to the steps below:

  1. Click the +New button, then select Journal entry.
  2. Select the Date of the paycheque.
  3. Enter an Entry # for identification.
  4. Enter the Debit and Credit accounts:

             a. Debit expense account used to track gross wages.

             b. Debit expense account used to track Employer Contribution (e.g. pension scheme)

             c. Credit Bank account payroll is deducted from.

      6. Select Save and Close.

Furthermore, you can run a Statement by Cash Flows report to view your sales and expenses. You can also generate other reports within QuickBooks.

Let me know if you have other questions about recording employee's salary in QuickBooks. I'll be here always to lend you a hand and address your concerns anytime. Have a nice day and Happy Holidays!
