I paid an employee and created a Journal Entry for that transaction but i cant find that entry when i tried to run a report for that employee

Since you used a journal entry to pay your employee, this will flow to the Journal report. There's no data that appears in one of the employee reports if you manually created the paycheck.

 

I suggest running and customizing the Journal report. This way, you're able to select specific employees to see their data or the JE you've created for them.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click Reports at the left panel.
  2. Go to the search icon and type Journal.
  3. Select the Customize button. Then, go the Filter drop-down arrow.
  4. Put a checkmark in the Name box. Then, click the drop-down arrow.
  5. Choose the employee that you want to see in the report by putting a checkmark in the box.
  6. Hit the Run report button.
  7. You can also change the date range at the top and choose the date was JE created.
