If I upload an updated list of products with the same product names but different purchase and selling prices, will this make changes to past transactions?

I understand that you want to import your updated list of products to QuickBooks Online. Please note that we're unable to save them with exactly the same names. You'll receive an error message if the product names on the file are already in QuickBooks Online.

In order to upload them, you'll have to create a unique name by adding numbers or letters. It won't affect your past transactions cause they'll be considered new products.

You can update the purchase cost and selling prices in QuickBooks Online instead of re-importing them. Simply go to the Sales tab and select Products and Services. Then, find the product and click the Edit.
