Question

We cannot find two client bookkeeping files. We are been billed for them but they are not appearing on our searches. They are appearing under the team members access?

We can double-check some information to ensure you can find your client bookkeeping files in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @usercharlot.

Beforehand, are you using QuickBooks Online Accountant? Knowing this will help me confirm that we're on the same page.

If your client has invited you as their accountant, this connects their QuickBooks company to your firm and allows you to review their books and make changes.

To verify this, check your client list to see if their company is connected. Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online Accountant.
  2. Click the arrow ▼ next to Go to QuickBooks.
  3. Look for your client's company.

If it's not on the list, ask your client to invite you to be their accountant. Once done, check your client list. Here's how:

  1. Go to Clients.
  2. Search for your client's name.
  3. Look for the QuickBooks symbol next to their name.

If everything's fine but the issue remains, go to your client's profile and ensure their business and display names match. See Step 4 in this article and proceed to Step 5 to verify your permissions: Find missing client companies in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Just in case you're unable to connect with your client, refer to this guide for fixes: What to do if you can't accept client invites in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Let us know if you have other concerns about your client's bookkeeping files, @usercharlot. We'll be around to help.
