Question

I am having a problem with Error code 155. QBO cannot give me a time when this can be sorted out and the last time it took weeks to be fixed. How can this be sorted out ?

Hi there, @norm9.

I understand how important it is to connect the bank to QuickBooks Online.

Bank error 155 occurs when your financial institution (FI) isn't allowing QuickBooks to connect and retrieve your data. Our engineers are still communicating with your FI to follow up on when they'll re-authorize the connection. You can also contact your bank for updates or further information about this. For more details, visit this article: Fix bank error 155

As a workaround, I recommend importing the bank transactions manually to get your account updated and reconciled regularly. You'll have to download the data from your bank's website.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card’s website.
  2. Follow your bank’s instructions for how to download transactions to your computer. (Please take note that some banks call this WebConnect.)
  3. Make sure the date range for the download is at least one day before your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions and save the file somewhere you can easily find it.

Then, review the file format and size before uploading it into QBO. After that, follow these steps to upload the file:

  1. Go to the Transactions or Banking menu. Then, select the Banking tab.
  2. Click the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. In the Link account drop-down menu, select Upload from file.

  4. Select Drag and drop or select files and select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, Continue.
  5. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, choose the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then, Continue.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
  7. Mark the transactions you would like to import. Then select Continue.
  8. Select Yes.
  9. When you accept your transactions, select Done.

I'll be around if you need more help connecting your bank account in QuickBooks. Stay safe and have a wonderful day ahead!
