General Ledger have no memo/description

The Memo/Description on the report will pull up the information per transaction added in QuickBooks Online.

The General Ledger report shows the beginning balance, transactions, and total for each account in your chart of accounts. 
The Memo/Description column is a generic display that's used across all reports in QuickBooks Online, however, it's not always populated with additional information. It mainly depends on the report type itself.  That's why you don't see anything listed in this column on your report.

If you wanted to show the Memo/Description on the report, you can run the Transaction Detail by Account instead. Here's how:

1. Click on the Reports tab.
2. On the search box type Transaction Detail by Account, and select the report.
3. Select a Report period and accounting method.
4. Click on Customise button, to add Row/Columns and Filter.
5. Click on Run report.
