Resetting your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account is easy, riri. There are times that we want to start over in our company to start afresh. Worry no more. I'll get you guided with that.

If you have been using QuickBooks for a while, you'll have to create a new company. However, if you have QuickBooks that is less than 90 days old, you have the option to purge your account. Keep in mind that performing this action won't be able to restore or reverse the system's deletion of all data entered into the company. To reuse your current lists, you can move them first before performing the steps below.

To start purging your account, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account as an admin.
  2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany.
  3. Example: URL shows https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage, change to: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
  4. The following screen will show a summary of the items that will be erased.
  5. Once the data has been removed, type the word "YES" and then click OK.
  6. When you've finished making your choices, click Wipe Data.
  7. You will be sent to your home page after the deletion is complete.

For accounts older than 90 days, you can start anew by referring to the Reset your QuickBooks Online account that is more than 90 days old dropdown in this article: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.
