Hi amardeep-toor,

Signing up for free trial does not require a credit card. It could be that the Buy Now option might have been selected. On the website, you can toggle between Free Trial or Buy Now.

You can check the subscription status by following these steps:

  1. Clear the Gear icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Under Your Company, click Account and Settings.
  3. On the left menu, click Billing & Subscription.
  4. Check the Subscription Status (Trial ends or Subscribed) beside QuickBooks.
  5. Click Done.

For any additional questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us. Thanks.

Thanks for your message.

The trial sign up process wasn't that clear then.
Can you please refund my charge as I still want to trial the product first before making a decision on subscription.
Thanks.

Hello there, Amardeep-toor.

You'll have to cancel the account so you'll receive a prorated refund. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then choose Account and Settings.
  2. Go to the Billing & Subscription tab.
  3. In the QuickBooks section, click Cancel.
  4. Follow the steps on your screen to cancel the account.

Once done, you can visit our website to subscribe for the free 30-day trial.

This happened to me as well and I'm now on my fourth attempt at resolving through customer service.

I will definitely never choose QuickBooks again as this is been a crap experience that should have been very straightforward.

I've got you covered, @Cwall.

I appreciate you for contacting our QuickBooks Online Customer Service Team to resolve the free trial issue.

You shouldn't be charged when you signed up for the 30-day trial as this doesn't require a credit card information.

I'd like to know what steps our Phone Support have done so far. This will help me provide the information you need and proceed with the necessary step to fix this for you.

In the meantime, you can cancel your account to stop the charges. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as an admin user.
  2. Go to Gear ⚙ icon at the right top.
  3. Under Your Account, select Account and Settings.
  4. Select the Billing & Subscription tab.
  5. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel.
  6. Follow the steps on the screen to cancel your subscription.

I've also added this article: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel? for additional guidance.

Please keep me posted and I'll be waiting for your response.

This happened to me on the same day that enrolled in the trial. I guess I shouldn't have enter my credit card data but I don't know how I would have gotten around that step.

I wanted to take a peak at QuickBooks online vs Desktop- it's very different and I am glad that I got to see that before putting too much time and energy into making the transition. I guess that was worth the $20 but still feel like "free trial" should in fact be free. Especially because I signed up AND cancelled within hours!
