Question

I want accurate wage vs income report but it brings in wages for week prior as that is the paid date. Can I compare the two with the same time period information easily?

I would like an accurate report that I can run weekly - total income and total wage expense. But because the week prior's pay run is paid in the current week - that is what gets bought into the report that I am using (a profit and loss for the week). So effectively they are not the same information.

Hi accounts557,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

You can use the Detailed Activity Report (DAR) in checking the previous pay runs amount and for a specific period of time by customising the date range and frequency. Let me guide you how:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Click on the Employees tab.
  3. Click on Reports tab.
  4. Locate and click the Detailed Activity report.
  5. Select the Date range, pay schedules, and other fields.
  6. Click on Expand all to see the breakdown of each employee listed.

Repeat the same steps to get another report for a different date range and frequency.

As for the profit and loss report you can use the comparison period to see the income and expenses for the said periods selected. Click on Customise to add or edit the filters on the report as well.

You can check this link to learn more about the Detailed Activity Report.

Post again in the Community if you have more questions about QuickBooks Online. Have a great rest of the day!
