Question

I want my accountant to do my booking keeping on his system. How do I access my history stored in Quickbooks if need for ATO without having to pay subscriptions?

Hi leslies1,

Your QuickBooks Online data will be accessible for 12 months following the cancellation of your subscription. If your QuickBooks Online file was in a trial period when you cancel it, the data is available for 90 days. The file goes into a read-only state and as long as a user is already added, they will be able to log in and review the information.

If you re-subscribe to a paid QuickBooks Online subscription within that 12 month period, the file becomes active again. If not, your data is then deleted. If you are looking to retain it for longer, you can also export data out of QuickBooks Online altogether. This article will guide you through exporting lists, reports and so on to Excel. You can also take a look at the app store for apps to assist with backing up your data. While we can't provide recommendations on these as they are third parties, each has FAQs, customer reviews and so on so you can review what has worked well for other QuickBooks customers.
