An error code 6140: Duplicate Document Number error occurs when a third party app such as KeyPay is trying to export a journal but the current active journal number has already been used. 

 

To resolve this, you can turn off an option on your settings by following these steps. 

 

  1. Go to Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. Under Other preferences, turn off Warn if duplicate journal number is used
  4. Click Save and Done

 

Once done, open the pay run and click on Export to QuickBooks.
