Question

Trying to lodge BAS and I get the following messge "An application error has occurred while processing your request" Any ideas?

I've checked our files and didn't see any reported cases similar to yours, Blackboxit.

 

This is probably a web page issue. We'll have to try a few steps to isolate this. I'll be guiding you along the way. 

 

To start with, open QuickBooks Online using a private browser. From there, try to lodge the BAS. If you've successfully filed it, go back to your main browser, then clear the cache. It's always a good idea to clear them out on a regular basis. This allows the browser/web to function efficiently.

 

On the other hand, using a different browser fixes issues like this (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox).

Hi. I've tried a new browser, and from another PC. No luck. Same exact error.

Thank you for giving it a try and sorry it still not working for you. 

 

While we can eliminate browser related issues, there are still a few possibilities for this error to occur and one of them can be due to the ATO website being down over last weekend. 

 

Can you contact ATO and confirm the status of your e-Lodgement, please? There's a chance that the BAS has already been e-Lodged, and you can just "Mark it as lodged" in your QuickBooks Online file.
