Converting from Reckon to Quickbooks Online

Enquiries to Intuit regarding migrating clients to Quickbooks Online have resulted in being told they can not do it at the present time and no time line is being given for when they will be able to assist. The previous arrangement they had with Odyssey is apparently over in anticipation of Intuit doing it themselves. Only they have failed utterly to deliver. Howq am i supposed to transition my 3 largest clients from Reckon to Quickbooks a i have promised as at July 1st 2020? Does anyone know any more about when they will be reay or alternate methods of achiveing the migration? These are large clients with large Reckon files up to 600gb+

Before we can convert from Reckon to QuickBooks Online, you'll have to get in touch with our Phone Support team. If an agent will advise you to continue the process, you'll be asked to send an email to Odyssey. From there, we'll have to check and support you with the conversion.

 

Just a heads up, Odyssey no longer assists free conversions to QuickBooks Online.

 

Then, here's how you can contact us:

 

  1. From the ? Help icon, click Contact Us.
  2. Enter Migrate from Reckon to QuickBooks Online.
  3. Click Let's talk.
  4. Select either Start a chat or Get a callback.

I have Quicken 2012 and looking for options to move online. It seems to me that it shouldn't be that hard but from what I can tell it is. So I understand
1. I somehow get Quicken 2014, import in my QDF and then export out CSV, from here I can import into Quickbooks online. How do I get Quicken 2014, pay for it? $200+
2. Use a paid service?
3. Go with Reckon Online, they do it for free, but I'm not keen on handing over my data!
I would have thought that Intuit would provide a free reader (heck they have the source code!). They can just create a small utility and provide for free for anyone who wants to come online. This would make business sense to me as more users will come across with confidence that they did the conversion themselves? What do you think?

I 100% agree and i'm an accountant who wanted to switch 20 + clients from Reckon Hosted to Quickbooks Online. Should be easy but ended up having to pay a fee to Quickbooks preferred provider. Conversion was poor, staff member has spent over a week trying to reconcile the bank and enter about 30 missing entries. Was told wages cant be transferred but i managed it Myself using an excel spreadsheet without too much difficulty and could repreat the process in a fraction of the time now i know the steps. Its extremely poor the way Quickbooks shunts things they dont want to do themselves. Even their employee - wages module is pretty much unsuported and cant handle class tracking which is very important to most of my clients. I love Quickbooks Online for its  accessability and its ease of use and ability to integrate with other apps etc. I hate the support and wages modules and the conversion process. They are all extremely poor

Open a new blank QBO account

then you may have 2 options:

1. Prepare the data in XLS/CSV format and utilize an importer tool

2. Purchase a 3rd party conversion service.

Afaik, Intuit only provides a Quicken converter for US version.

Option 1. is no good for me. I have Quicken 2012 and it supports QDF where it has NO ability to export out XLS or CSV.

Option 2. I do not wish to use a 3rd party service, primary concern is security of data. I frankly I shouldn't have to pay for it if Intuit wants new business they provide the importer. Why is is available in US and not here?
