lodging monthly

Hi there

Could someone please help with this.  The tax office has changed the company's pay as you go withholding cycle to monthly instead of quarterly on the BAS because it is more than $25,000 for the year. So I must lodge an activity monthly with just the payg witholding amounts.

How do I create this Instalment Activity Statement from quickbooks online then show payment of same.

Hi lopresti,

 

Preparing and lodging the IAS in QuickBooks Online is the same as preparing your BAS. If you've enabled PAYG Instalments in the GST center you can enter your Income tax installment amount.

 

Here's how to enable the PAYG INstalments:

 

  1. Click on the GST tab.
  2. Click on the Settings button, and select Tax settings.
  3. Locate PAYG Instalments, and set the Lodging frequency and Instalment method.
  4. Click on Save.

If you need to lodge the BAS period say Jan - March, the GST center will show a Prepare IAS button to lodge January IAS, and then after you lodge January IAS, the GST page will show the February IAS period outstanding and Prepare IAS option will show. After you've lodged your IAS, you'll be able to lodge your BAS for the said period.
